a girl has new clothes
It was quite warm today, so I was able to put two large loads of the laundry on the line. The ground was still wet, squishy, and covered with leaves. I unwittingly dropped a pair of white socks on the ground and proceeded to trample them until they were completely covered in mud before I realized what I had done. Damn it. Guess I'll be doing a load of whites next. I usually don't separate my laundry, because really, who cares how about having blindingly white socks? They're socks! No one really sees them! I just don't see a reason to obsessively bleach every piece of white fabric in my house. But every once in awhile it can't be avoided.
I had a lovely dinner with a dear friend tonight. We were to meet up at 6 but I was early by about 20 minutes and so hungry I couldn't wait until she arrived, so I treated myself to some baba ghanouj with delicious Turkish bread and an order of olives and pickles. For my entree I had a gyro (twice in one week! I don't think I've had even one in a couple of years! Making up for lost time, I guess.) on pita bread and a couple of my friends fries. Thought about getting a soda, but decided I'd just stay with water. I ended up being so full from my appetizers that I only ate half of my gyro. I actually ended up with some of everything I ordered. I, of course, boxed all of it up and gleefully brought it home for lunch tomorrow.
We also took a trip to Target, partly to get some walking and partly to look around for deals. Most everything I bought was full price but I did get a pair of orange stretchy gloves for $1.50 . I was hoping to get some jeans on clearance but there were none to be found. I opted to get 2 pair at $27.99 and $29.99. Not on sale but not designer prices either. I also bought a Game of Thrones t-shirt that was too cute to pass up. I'm enjoying the series, both the t.v. show and now the books. I'm currently listening to the first book in the series and it's kind of fun getting caught up in the excitement of the impending last season. I'm planning on wearing the crap out of that shirt. I also got a new black sweatshirt to replace my old one which has turned into a tattered, shapeless piece of tissue paper. The holes in the pockets have gotten so bad that anything put in them falls right out. I left a trail of clothespins around the yard despite my best effort to place the clothespins in an area of the pocket that still had fabric. Yeah, it was long past time to get a new one.
