Grinding for Greenbacks

It's Tuesday so our Good Friend came over for dinner and cards. She was nice enough to provide the main dish which was an egg bake with broccoli, cauliflower, onions, and mushrooms. It was lovely! I cut up some fresh veggies and whipped up a Green Goddess dip. I didn't use quite as much olive oil or feta to cut down on cost and calories. I don't think it made a difference in taste as we all loved it and ate quite a bit of it. I thawed out a salami I'd gotten waaaaay back in October when I was home and forgotten about. I had frozen it as soon as I got home and it tasted just like when it was fresh. I had nice block of cheddar and some rice crackers I'd picked up on clearance last month. It was a nice dinner and suited a rainy day like today.

I've been using ibotta on a recommendation from a friend and have racked up $24.15 in last two days! Mostly due to some high-end pickles which I bought the limit on. They're the brand we regularly buy and are rarely on sale. I was thrilled to get them! I also got some fancy mustard and some mineral water. All little luxuries we like, but are fairly restrained in buying. Most of the offers aren't anything we're interested in, but I can see making a little money with this overtime. I had actually signed up ibotta 3 years ago according to my account. I don't exactly remember why I didn't use it but now I'm kicking myself!

I've also been plugging away at Swagbucks. We have a love-hate relationship. Sometimes it's super fun to spend a whole night grinding away at their surveys and sometimes I want to scream, pull my hair out, and knock my laptop to the floor. In many ways it reminds me of playing World of Warcraft when we're trying to gather certain resources for crafting or running through a low level dungeon to defeat a boss for that one certain piece of gear. It can be very meditative or extremely tedious.

I've already cashed in on one $25 Amazon gift certificate and now I'm pretty close to another. But it's painfully slow and seems to take a tremendous amount of effort to make a small amount of money.
